Sprawling park with miles of trail to explore. I went on a midsummer day at 4:30pm. Do not do that. It was 104 and I went through 24oz of water in about 20 minutes. There are small patches of shade, but the trails are primarily in sun. Parking is $5.00, cash. The sandy trails are heavily marked with horseshoe indents, and that seems to be who at least some of the trails were made for. Sections felt like walking on a sandy beach, so they could be a little difficult without the proper shoes. I imagine this little slice of wilderness is beautiful after a rain and in 70 degree weather, and I think my next trip will be under those conditions.

Wonderful walk right after work. I didn't walk the other trails, so it was a short walk but nice scenery. I did see there is a Nature Center which you can walk to, its open Saturdays. Also if you park in the parking area its $5 for parking and $2 per dog if they are walking with you. I parked a ways down and walked up to the trail, no pups with me, so it was free.

This is an EXCELLENT place to ride. Very relaxing. Parking has clean portable restrooms, shade and picnic areas.

I don't think so.
No hunting of any sort allowed at the nature preserve.
No however this area is part of the Santa Ana River and with a little reasearch you kihht be able to locate an area eithin the Prado Dam reservoir cirridor which is directly supplief by the Santa Ana River which stretches a didtance and passes by tge Nature Preserve. Might want to goigle 'Fisibgbat the Prado Dam Reservoir for specific requirements and locations.
You can buy a pass at the park HQ.
