First, the folks in the baggage office are great and if you’re nice to them they’ll be nice to you. A couple times they’ve really gone the extra mile. But American turned their lounge over to a contractor and it’s now a crapshoot as to whether the lounge will be “at capacity” (i.e., closed). American doesn’t take any responsibility in those instances. TL;DR probably for many who come across this review. The point is that if you’re a San Diego based Admirals Club member and are considering renewal (or are considering joining in the first place) based on your expectation that you’ll have guaranteed access in your home airport—I suggest giving that another thought. There are plenty of good pay as you go food and drink options elsewhere in T2. And the other lounges run by United and Delta in T2 are great too—so if you really need a lounge experience you could try ditching American altogether!

Ariana from American Airlines San Diego customer support was extremely rude and didn’t listen. I was trying to explain that the boarding passes did not work yesterday as it was Canceled flight and to make sure that it would work she said she fixed it and I went to TSA and they sent me back to Ariana. My experience with AmericanAirlines has been terrible and the customer service from Ariana is a cherry on the top

Delayed 5+ hours "mechanical" Means we miss connection in Dallas and have to overnight there. Pass poor American communication re these delays. Not a happy Platinum Pro passenger and wife.

The last two time I flew have been the worst. Update passengers of flight changes would be so helpful. I have been directed by two different employees of gate change and both were incorrect . Today I missed a flight and no announcement of gate change. Nor any call for priority passengers who hadn't checked in yet. No number to call for assistance at airport, automated system is a joke when you have a time line. I'm so not happy with these continued mess ups. Apparently American Airlines needs to hire more employees to work these gates.

You will need to call American Airlines for that question!
I would call AA ahead of time before booking your flight
You can bring one personal item, for example a back pack or a small purse that fits underneath the seat. Also your carry on bag that fits in the overhead bin. That's only for American airlines. Delta and united only allows a small personal item that fits underneath the seat in front of you.
