I was very disappointed. I went specifically to get a pizza from there Wolfgang Puck pizzeria. I had been awhile back and had one that was so good, it reminded me of the early 90's and the first "Puck" pizza I ever tasted. Today I went to the counter, it was 4:45/5:00. There didn't seem to be anyone specifically designated behind the pizza counter and the first employee that greeted me informed me she wasn't trained to make the pizza and she went to the deli to grab a Mgr that could. I ordered my pizza ( I was hoping he would give me a ticket to pay for the pizza while it was baking but instead he quickly turned his back and started getting ingredients ready) I wondered away to kill time, when I came back 10 min later to peek on my pizza cooking in the "wood fired " pizza oven, I was alarmed to see the oven was not on. I then realized what was happening. My pizza was being cooked in the convection oven. NOT THE SAME AT ALL I truly came for the flavor and service advertised by "Gelsons" It bothers me the Mgr who took my order didn't say anything or ask if I minded that they couldn't cook it in the pizza oven. It looked good when it came out but not bubbly crust good, more like chewy crust. Then when we got to the register, ( my 5 yr old and I) we waited a solid 10 min with the scalding pizza box ("18") in my hand. The reason the line wasn't moving is because they had just implemented new cc machines that aperantly were malfunctioning. Only one person was in front of me the whole time, I finally switched lines when I saw an open cashier. Of course all I had to pay with was cc. Long story short, ha. The cashier Couldn't get cc machine to work and I finally left, without the pizza or the last 45 minutes of my life.

Went in yesterday to order a Wolfgang Puck pizza. The store was empty and there was nobody in line. Not a good sign for a food place. The employee behind the counter explained that she couldn’t make a pizza and the girl who could was on break. She may return in 10 minutes or more but she really didn’t know. When the pizza maker returned she explained that there was a larger order she had to work on and it would be around 20 minutes or more before she could start on our pizza. It honestly gave me a good excuse to leave and spend my money somewhere else which we did. There is a reason there was nobody there.

gelson's is one of the original high end grocery stores in LA and they continue to be a contender. obviously there isn't much difference in the standard packaged stuff that they sell along with their competitors at vons and ralph's, but their produce is always impeccable and their meat and poultry seems to be higher quality in general. the prices reflect that, but you get what you pay for. " what i like about gelson's is the lack of pretension vs. a place like whole foods or, god forbid, erewhon. it's high end without the snootiness, and you won't find the wokes taking over the place. :) one thing i particularly like about this location is that they are really cool with letting you sit down in the area by the wine bar and to set up your laptop and use their free wifi while having a snack from their in-house pie hole pie shop, their impeccable deli, or the in-house wolfgang puck. it's really convenient when i need to kill an hour or two while waiting for my car to be serviced nearby in santa monica or when i am between errands and want to just sit down and relax for a bit (i also have a mailbox at the UPS store in the same shopping center). consider me a fan.

Best grocery store ever. You can sip and shop. Which means you can sit at their little bar and sip wine while someone picks up your groceries for you. Just had a glass of wine and cheese plate with the most delightful bartender. Love how nice this place is and their staff.

Not exactly sure what time they open but I do know 99% of their prepped food (salads, soups, pastas, chicken, salmon, etc.) is on display & ready for consumers by 10:00am.
Google says closed all day Christmas day, otherwise normal.
Get in the car, take a bus walk. I don't work there.
