This is a great place to train BJJ or start the process of learning it. My girlfriend + myself both are students. People are friendly, the place is always clean, + the coaches are talented / supportive. That's exactly what you want in a BJJ gym. Highly recommended!

Yes. People of all ages train at Honu.

Do they give different level belts when you progress or do you just progress without earning different colored belts, such as a black belt for advanced people?

Students earn belts as they progress. Adults start at white belt and progress to blue then purple then brown until finally black. In between belts, you can earn stripes that indicate advancement within each belt rank.
