I was diagnosed with vestibular migraine, some kind of unexplained dizziness. I was desperate when I stepped foot in Intouch Chiropractic and signed up for the intense treatment plan for 3 months. I remember Dr. Devin told me it is going to take a year to heal. Unfortunately after the 3-month treatment, I got to relocate and wasn't able to go back. Nevertheless, although it didn't help immediately, I do feel MUCH BETTER after a year. I remember the first time I heard things being "shifted" inside my body, that feeling of change, had opened up opportunities for change. Modern western medicine tends to have patients relying on doctors for cures, but at the end of the day, the healing is done by our body. Plus there are more than one way to heal. I believe the job of Dr. Devin and Dr. Tapia is to assist the healing; they emphasize 1) having balanced postures (knowing when to stop when some posture is hurting), 2) exercising, 3) having good food (that minimize allergies/inflammations) and 4) having a positive mindset (not dwelling in the past about the condition) are the keys to heal. They are like healing coach that they see any kind of "shift"/"change" a good sign, always being very encouraging. (I know some of us are fighting the illness on our own without much help and understanding from family members.) I appreciate their help and hope they can use their philosophy to help out more patients like me.

I absolutely love intouch! I sprained my foot and was unable to walk. After getting red light therapy (class 4 model) the swelling went down significantly. It increased the blood flow to my ligament and I was able to walk after two sessions! What was suppose to be a 6-8 week recovery (according to urgent care dr) was cut down to two weeks. Absolutely incredible. Thank you In touch!

Questions & Answers

Am I a Candidate for Spinal Decompression?

Intouch Chiropractic | Dec 23, 2021
Intouch Chiropractic | Dec 23, 2021

A thorough patient history, evaluation and imaging are required to qualify for non-surgical spinal decompression. The doctor will look at many factors to determine if you are a candidate. Many of our patients have been told they need surgery but wish to avoid it, and have failed to significantly respond to conservative options such as medications, injections, physical therapy, traditional chiropractic care and acupuncture. Here is a partial list of inclusion and exclusion criteria: Inclusion Criteria: Persistent pain due to degenerated discs that has not responded after four weeks of treatment. Pain due to bulging or herniated discs that are more than four weeks old. Chronic pain from a failed back surgery that is over six months old. Patients available for four weeks of treatment protocol. Patient over 18 years of age.

Are There Any Side Effects or Risks to NUCCA or Spinal Decompression?

Intouch Chiropractic | Dec 23, 2021
Intouch Chiropractic | Dec 23, 2021

Most patients do not experience any side effects; though, there have been some mild cases of muscle spasm for a short period of time. NUCCA and Spinal Decompression are both safe and comfortable. Our spinal decompression system has emergency stop switches for both the patient and the operator. These switches terminate treatment immediately, and are required by the FDA.

What is the Difference Between Spinal Decompression and Traction?

Intouch Chiropractic | Dec 23, 2021
Intouch Chiropractic | Dec 23, 2021

Traction can relieve some of the symptoms of disc injuries. However, traction does not address the source of the problem. Traction and inversion tables lower the intradiscal pressure from a +90 mmHg to a +30 mmHg (positive pressure). Spinal Decompression creates a vacuum phenomenon inside of the disc. This effect causes the disc to pull back the herniation back to center. In addition, the increase in negative pressure causes the flow of blood and nutrients back into the disc allowing the body’s natural fibroblastic response to heal the disc injury and rehydrate the disc. Spinal Decompression is clinically proven to reduce the intradiscal pressure between -150 to -200 mmHg (negative pressure).

What Causes Me to Lose My Adjustment?

Everyone responds to stress differently. There is only ONE cause for losing your adjustment, your body’s inability to adapt to STRESS. There are 3 forms of stress that we encounter regularly: physical, chemical and emotional. Physical subluxations are caused by accidents, injuries, slips and falls. Chemical subluxations are caused by too much sugar, alcohol, caffeine, medications, smoking, poor diet, etc. Emotional subluxations are caused by family stress, poor relationship, demanding jobs, etc. As your body gets stronger, you'll begin to hold your adjustments for longer periods of time.

What is NUCCA Chiropractic?

Intouch Chiropractic | Aug 21, 2019
Intouch Chiropractic | Aug 21, 2019

NUCCA is a form of upper cervical chiropractic care that gets to the root of the problem no matter where the symptoms are in your body. Dr. Jeanett Tapia and Dr. Devin Young are both part of a small group of specialized doctors that are active NUCCA members. The NUCCA work focuses on correcting a small misalignment of the bone structure that connects the head and neck. This misalignment can disrupt the communication between your brain and body causing pain, stress, tension, and physical or emotional dysfunction. A childhood fall, sports injury, birth trauma or car accident can be the cause of many common symptoms. NUCCA currently has less than 275 members and is an acronym that stands for National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association.
