I’m not use to poorly rating places, but unfortunately I need to warn others. My 1st puppy appointment “coupon” from Banfield said free, but they end up charging me anyways. I ended up paying $263.81 for my 1st visit. Unfortunately on that same visit I know nothing about shots so I trusted that the vet is doing her job, so my 3 month old puppy got his “Leptospirosis shot and another shop on top of that. 2-3 hours later my puppy had a “Extreme lethargic reaction to “the Lepto shot. I ended up rushing him to the Veterinary Emergency Group where he was treated. I ended up paying another $462.19 hospital bill. My puppy was well before I brought him to Banfield… Just in one day my family spend $263.81 plus $462.19 which Banfield hasn’t done anything to help, unfortunately I signed my dog for their plan which you are locked for a year and they don’t tell you about is. 4 days later I tried to cancel the plan I ended up paying $292.97 to cancel my plan.. Don’t Take your precious baby here.. Not a safe place for pets…

Wasn't too stoked with Banfield, they totally over charge and you can't go back with your pets to consult with vet .. they just tell u what happened AFTER the visit. It's super un- personable. I am finding another vet...

I’m not the easiest customer when it comes to my pup but the way Jessica at the Banfield location in Encinitas handle my issue was super nice and professional. Pretty much I had an issue with my flea medication for my dog and I was also having trouble making an appointment that would work for me, she got me in the same day my pup was ready within 45 minutes like she said. All the shots and blood work my pup needed, Jess got it done. Out of all the Banfield locations I dealt with Which is only the Oceanside location best service Oceanside locations should take notes.

Very inexpensive, only $50 for an exam and very competitive prices for surgery and other procedures. However, they do try to up sell you with unnecessary expenses (like every other vet clinic out there). Still received excellent service and they were very accommodating to my budget!

You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?

Banfield Pet Hospital | Aug 20, 2020

Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).

It's only free if you have never been to any banfield pet hospital before with any animal. Basically, if they already have you in their system, you won't get a free pet exam.
