A bunch of little kids running this place, dirty pools and bathrooms, gym has no sanitizer or towels. I am very sad and disappointed to see a Y in this poor condition.

Perhaps good for anything other than the weight rooms. Staff allows children and teens with no adult supervision or guidance. Kids crowd around machines, talking, and barely using them. Staffs response is for people waiting on equipment to constantly ask them to hurry. There is a constant gross misuse of equipment. For examle, I watched a kid literally doing flips and acrobatics off an unsecured barbell in the squat rack for his workout. Staffs response was they have them sign documents when they sign up about use of equipment, but that's all they can do. I guess they think that covers them from any legal liability, and that's all they are worried about, but it is still highly negligent toward the safety of these kids and other members. Weights are never put back where they belong. Kids hitting eachother with foam rollers. People literally vaping in the weightroom. I've personally never seen this kind of thing allowed in any YMCA or other gym in general in my lifetime.

My wife and I have been active in Chula Vista, McGrath, Santee, and Mission Valley YMCA’s. We have been dues paying members for 20 years. On their worst days the YMCAs in San Diego may not be perfect but they are never “incompetent” as one reviewer put it. We’ve always found they are competent, usually very friendly, and usually accommodating. As a Navy CPO it has been my job to judge the competence of others.

I absolutely love this YMCA location. It's only a mile from my house. The indoor pool and outdoor jacuzzi are awesome and relaxing. I'm an active senior and enjoy the AquaFit classes. The upstairs equipment area is fully stocked with excellent machines, weights, and class rooms. Just joined, and so far having a wonderful time here.

Generally the pool opens at the same time as the YMCA itself. Sometimes the pool, the indoor pool, will be closed for a day or so for cleaning or lifeguard training. 6AM Mon - Fri 7AM Sat - Sun If you're still unsure, call the establishment for further information. They also offer schedules for different classes, as well as the pool.
Off site
They seems to be well maintained
To my knowledge you have to be a member .. three that I’ve been a part of membership is a must
Does McGarth Y participate in Silver Sneakers coverage
Only soccer clinic for now.
There are no reservations for the classes at this time. People line up in the parking lot about 45 minutes before class starts and then get a number about 15 minutes before the start. Size is limited as 24.
Don't do it
Yes! There are classes offered Monday through Saturday, check the pool schedule on the website or in the pictures for times.
Yes, but a membership would be alot cheaper
The McGrath Family YMCA does not have a sauna or a steam room. It does have a Jacuzzi and a massage room.
Yes, you can purchase with: cash, credit card, debit card or check
Open until 2pm today (labor day)
You'll have to pay a one time $50 fee, but the monthly fee for two adults living at the same address is $74/monthly, and the fee for a 1 Adult & 1 Child under 25 is $69/monthly. The Senior fee, one adult 65 and older, is $45/monthly. YMCA offers paying members three passes for guests. Meaning YMCA members can bring a guest to their YMCA three times for free. If that particular guest comes a fourth time, they either have to sign up for membership, or they are required to donate $30 each time they visit.
No they don't have them
