We have been very happy with the home like environment and wonderful care from the staff at Sunrise. It has been a very difficult and challenging year and they have performed admirably.

Very unprofessional company to work with if you are contracted by them. They set unreasonable expectations that cost money and they feel they should not pay for the additional costs. My company will never work them in the future ever.

We moved my mother into Sunrise of La Jolla after leaving a similar style facility the St Louis area in April. The entire experience has been an absolute joy! The staff, without exception, have been incredibly kind and highly skilled. The other residents have been welcoming and friendly. For those looking at these types of facilities, you probably know that the administrative process can be extensive. Sunrise of La Jolla and their management staff have a well defined process and helped facilitate every contact along the way. I can not say enough positive things about how easy they made a potentially difficult move!

Sunrise does not care about their residents at all. My mother was at Sunrise for 7 months in 2016/17. During this period she was severely over-drugged (to the point she couldn't even feed herself), she permanently lost her ability to walk because the caregivers had no time to help her with her PT, she experienced 20-40-minute wait times when she pressed her call button EVERY DAY, she developed a bed sore, and was so unclean when she was transferred out of there that the new home felt the need to report it to my family. Since then, I have talked to multiple people who had our same experience, and I see other reviews that state similar problems. After only a few weeks it was clear that the caregivers were sweet but way overworked, and my mother wasn't getting the proper care. Her recliner smelled like urine because she would have to wait so long to be helped to the bathroom and often had an accident while waiting. She was incredibly stressed because she was in fear all the time that no one was there to take care of her. She loved her caregivers, but the administration was harsh and unkind and made her afraid of retaliation if she complained. I spent dozens and dozens of hours trying to communicate with Sunrise administration to get them to perform the basic care we were promised. I was given platitudes and lies every conversation and nothing changed. I worked my way up the corporate chain to Todd Smith, Director of Operations, and then to Lisa Kennedy, the Vice President of Operations simply to get them to make sure my mother was getting basic care like being helped to the bathroom, being moved periodically to prevent bed sores, being properly transferred from her chair to her wheelchair. They said all the right things, but nothing ever changed for my mother. In fact, they tried to charge us more money while they were causing my mother's decline! Furthermore, after bringing up these serious complaints, the administration at this location started to treat my family with rudeness and started trying to block us from getting the information about her care. All of a sudden we had to jump through hoops to get her medication list or her call wait time logs. I can only conclude that they were trying to block us from collecting evidence of their mistakes. It was a complete nightmare. They didn't want to hear our complaints because they weren't going to do anything about it. No one, especially the elderly who are so fragile, should EVER be treated the way Sunrise treated our family. I never write reviews, but the situation at Sunrise is unconscionable and must be stopped! NEVER NEVER consider putting someone you love at Sunrise.

Size of the room, floor, month of move in and current census may all affect the price. They give tours anytime and will go over prices as well. That is your best bet to get the most accurate prices.

Do you accept pets and do you have studio apartments with a patio?
