When my parents were in need of care that could no longer be provided in their home, it was critical for us to find a loving family home. Dad was in end-stage cancer and Mom was in mid-stage Alzheimer's. Each diagnosis carried very different care needs but the overriding need, after 65 years of marriage, was that Mom and Dad be together. As a family member living outside the Spokane area, it was a great comfort to know they were receiving highly skilled and professional care, but also treated with love and respect and in a clean and beautiful environment. When Dad passed, his final wish was that Mom could stay at Legacy Gardens for the rest of her life and we were blessed when Ryan and Kenda assured us that mom had a home for as long as she wished. Whenever I came for a weekend visit, my family, including our young son, was welcomed at any hour for as long as we chose to visit and were treated as though we were family, too. Fresh flowers, piano concerts, freshly baked cookies and strolls to the local park were regular occurrences, and beautiful and delicious meals, depending on the changing dietary needs of the residents, were the norm. I can't ever express my gratitude for the peace of mind that Legacy Gardens gave me every day that my parents were blessed to live there.

2 years ago we began our search for a home for dad. After 2 falls we knew that he needed a smaller facility where he could get more one on one care.Legacy Gardens was recommended to us by a family friend. The minute we walked through the doors and met Ryan, Kenda and the friendly staff we knew we were in the right place. The level of care and safety measures that are in place allow us to have peace of mind knowing that dad is safe and happy. Legacy Gardens has been a godsend to our family!!

Legacy Gardens has been a godsend! Our mother’s care, dignity, and well being are most important to our family. Legacy Gardens has allowed our family peace of mind and the ability to step out of the care-takers roll and just be “daughters”. The owners, Ryan and Kenda, are like family and the staff are all knowledgeable , friendly, and extremely caring. I would recommend Legacy Gardens to anyone. We cannot thank them enough for what they’ve done for our mom. Sincerely, Lisa and Marci

Professionalism with a caring personal touch describes Ryan and Kenda Bishop's Legacy Gardens Adult Family Home. Our Mom moved to Legacy Gardens just over a year ago and the Legacy Garden staff has provided an awesome supportive experience for my Mom and our family. The little touches including making sure her hair and nails are cared for as well as the engaging environment give our family comfort that Mom is well cared for. Ryan and Kenda are excellent communicators, experienced in delivering palliative care maximizing quality of life for residents. Without reservation recommend consideration of Legacy Gardens of Spokane when a family member requires the support of an Adult Family Home.

Questions & Answers

Will we still need to pay for a Private, One on One Caregiver, or have a family member come sit with our mom to keep her safe from falling if she moves in?

ABSOLUTELY NOT! We staff 2 caregivers for 6 residents during awake hours. During sleeping hours we have one awake caregiver plus one on call caregiver on site every night. Your loved one will have extremely attentive care. No more calling out for help and having to wait 15-20+ minutes for someone to help them.

Do Long Term Care Insurance policies pay for care at Legacy Gardens?

YES! Typically most LTC Insurance policies have the family pay us at the beginning of the month when payment is due. Then they reimburse the family the following month.
