We drove here looking for the naturally formed water slides but those were actually closed the weekday we went due to logging. A helpful park ranger told us (we're from WA) about the lake as an alternative. The kids had their hearts set, so we needed something and fast. This spot was wonderful. We enjoyed the whole afternoon lounging in the lovely water and the kids had a blast. It was clean, well kept, and inviting.

Use to be a very beautiful place but overcrowded with the Russians who don't take care of the land around it an don't clean up after themselves!!! Idaho does not need them around at all!!!!!!!!!

***This review is for the Lion's Head Natural Water slides!!!!**** Across from the campground entrance, (if you turn right instead of left into the campground) you can drive approximately 3 miles up the mountain, park and walk a 2 mile hike up the mountain to "natural water slides!" One of the best and most beautiful hikes with the rewards being cooling off in nice cold, clean mountain water sliding on naturally smooth rocks! Absolutely fun and adventurous for the whole family (My son did the walk when he was just 2 years old)! 😎
