Ross at PDX has a great deal of enthusiasm but no control of what goes on in his shop. My truck got 5 new tires and needed extra special attention to details to get it right. Left hand thread on drivers side, 385 ft. lbs. torque per lug, wheel weights on outer edge of rims, spare tire mount is unique so I managed that. I gave all instructions needed to Ross and and expected follow through. Here is how he did. The first crew was very capable and skilled with tools. These folks left me with 2 front tire at 43.5 psi, far below requested 62.5 psi tire pressure. The rear tires were mounted, balanced, reinstalled by a different crew, younger and no experience. Where was Ross to explain necessary details. These guys used a powerful air gun to tighten the lugs. They used my borrowed torque wrench to check for proper torque, which clicked immediately on each lug. This indicates torque was already exceeded. I had them loosen all lugs in the rear and then torque them properly. On final inspection, one aluminum rim was badly gouged during the mounting of the tire or balancing of the rim. Ross did not explain what happened and offered to buff out the damage but instead gave me the 5 wheel balance gratis, which I thought was included with the cost of tires. The next morning I checked air pressure on all tires and found the rear wheels set a 78psi cold! Max pressure on these new tires is 65psi. Is a 20 psi differential front to rear even safe at highway speeds? Overall grade C- . But you can’t beat the warranty and post purchase service. Thank you Les Schwabe!

Hit a pot hole leaving Voodoo donuts and exploded my tire. It was 9p and me and my family had an early flight out. Les Schwab was closed and wouldn't open until after my take off. I woke up to snow. Drove the car to Les Schwab on Erin Way. Dropped my car off, snow on ground, traffic lights off due to power outage. No drop box, so I had to hide the keys. Flying all day worrying, I was able to get ahold of Ross 3 minutes before close. The rest was a breeze. Found the keys, replaced the tire, and dropped it back off at the Clarion. My car was ready for the 3hr drive home to Seattle. Ross and team reaffirmed my trust in Les Schwab. Ross, you and your team turned a stressful situation into pretty much a normal one.
