Security guy asked for my ID and visibly and dramatically flinched when I reached into my bag for it? What are you so scared of? You’re the one with the gun.

Although virtually every business in this complex and building is open - and has been for some time, this Social Security office is CLOSED - a note on the door says "we'll let you know when we reopen.." The security guard who opened the door when we knocked said "We've been closed since the pandemic began." So closed for 1 1/2 years? And no plans to reopen? There was also no dropbox for mail - everything needs to be sent via U.S. mail.

We visited SS today and were pleasantly surprised that our wait was not too long, but when we met with Tracy, she was awesome! She was pleasant and efficient and took care of multiple questions we had. Thank you Tracy for your kindness and patience. You were terrific.

I went to the Salem Social Security office on 12/3/18 to apply for social security benefits. After waiting close to 3 hours in their waiting area my number was finally called and I was abruptly told that they could not help me without an appointment. I told them that the website said that an appointment was recommended but not necessary. The woman at the window said that if I had a complaint to contact my congressman. She was extremely demeaning. I realize that this group is stressed but this is totally unacceptable. They just do not care. If you try to call they hang up on you. And if you try to call for an appointment at the 800 number you cant get through. Unbelievable!

You don't need that all you need is your ID and tell them you need a replacement
Very nice. Got p.p.work back fast.
10-4 Monday thru Friday, except holidays. They are quicker in the early mornings than later, you can be in and out of there within minutes.
I went last weekish you can just walk in
Need a new ss card
I would go online to ssa. Gov to set it up very easy!
They are closed you need to call for appointment.
Only if it's been written into the divorce or you were married over 10 years
You can try online
I believe you call and speak to any representative or you can go in and make an appointment because usually it's pretty empty towards the middle of the month. I am disabled and go to the social security office.
If your service area is in Salem, MA, yes
I'm not sure but I believe that they can do it for you. I would call before going there. You also might be able to get it online you just need to make a account on the SS web sight. Sorry wish I had a direct answer.
At the office
Yes you can
Salem office, your not restricted to a particular one
Yes
One time in the Salem Ma office I didn't realize you couldn't have your phones on, apparently it's because you can set bombs off with them, and I'm a dyslexic so I saw info on the wall I needed so I took a picture out if and the security guard FLIPPED OUT. He trying taking my phone from me, called the cops saying I refuse to cooperate with Federal rules and guidelines at the Social Security office. They made me delete the pic and told me I was not ever to come back to that office unless I left my phone else where!!! It was so crazy and un called for!! So I asked them if I could atleast right down the info.... they sead NO LEAVE KNOW BEFORE YOU GET ARRESTED!!!! I still to this day will NOT go to that office!!!! Can you say OVER REACTION!!!!
If you set up an account online you can go to that a account and print out a ssi income verification form.
