Mobbed, only 3 out 7 windows open and it's not even 11 am on a Wednesday. When I got here at 10:15 40 people were ahead of me. I know state offices are slow, but this is ridiculous. The employees must get a break every hour.

Got 1st in line at 7AM.....was out at 8 minutes after eight.....Lisa is awesome!!!! Pays to go early.

Went there 8am Mon. Their computers were being cranky, but the employees were dealing well and giving great service to customers. They were pleasant, efficient and I was done in 20 minutes. Great job!

Tried one day and it was over an hour wait, went another at 5 minutes before they opened and was in and out in 30 minutes for a license renewal with the eye test. I don't necessarily blame the people who work here because I'm sure it gets old constantly bugging people like they're toddlers, but people... WEAR A MASK. The sign says masks required, and at least 4 people couldn't be bothered. If someone is immune compromised, can't get a vaccine etc and they still have to go to the DMV, what are they supposed to do?

Proof of ID (old license will do) SSN Renewal fee($30)
I need to register my car
yes
5$ in Maine.
Typically You can go online as long as it's current and get a duplicate copy which you'll have to pay for but they'll send it to the address on your ID. If it's not the same address bc you've moved etc then you have to go and do an official change of address and they'll issue you a new paper one. Idk why you're having issues with that as I used my paper one to open a bank account and begin a job etc but I guess every place is different however the real ID didn't take long to arrive for me about a week. Idk if any of that helps but good luck to you and hopefully you're able to get it squared away.
No
Passport, and two utility bills. Of course you're current license.
print them out if possible
They start at 40. But not every time. It is however every time age 62 and up.
You probably can use something like motor vehicle registration check book or passport to prove your identity first.pay with your checks
Go to the bureau
Go in the afternoon time around lunch there usually isn't that long of a wait I hope this helps you. This is based on my experience recently.
If the car is already registered then no he can just register it in AZ when he gets there, If it's not registered he might want to check with a DMV in AZ and see if he can register it before he leaves to pick it up If not he'll most likely have to register in Maine before he leaves
Yes search 'Maine dmv online renewal'
Bring your out of state license plus proof of Maine residency and proof of insurance. You will be all set.
I believe that works for liscence only. but it cant be used for verification to purchase alcohol tobacco etc.
Yes it can be done online, sorry I just looked it up
You'll need your birth certificate and current driver's license to get a Maine license. Take your registration and insurance to the town hall where you are moving to (town clerks office) once your car is registered you'll need to find a mechanic to do a Maine state safety inspection
They should have the number in their system.
Let local PD know. Tell them license plate number if you have it.
Gosh, don't remember. I believe it was $30.00. You can look it up on line with DMV.
