I have been using Avenas products for almost a decade, since coming across her highway sign in Maine that led us to the most magical little fairy garden of magical herbs and flowers. After visiting the garden I was hooked on all of Debs products. Her lavender fairy flower cream is one of my favourites and I love the healing salve and her lemon lip balm! Thank you for providing such beautiful gifts to us Deb!

I received a gift of Avena ashwagandha from a friend. I have multiple health issues, all cancer and surgery related, and I have found this product to be better than ibuprofen, tylenol, and other remedies I have tried. I think this potent root is better than cbd oil. . Start with half a teaspoon and see how you do. This particular brand is not as strong tasting as another I purchased. Saying that, you still need to mix it well in something. I can handle most tastes, but this one warrants a little juice or smoothie to cut the taste.

Hi Julienne, unfortunately, we have no experience with galls on Rosa rugosa. We would advise contacting your local extension service or a nursery that sells Rosa rugosa shrubs to seek further guidance. Best of luck!
Warm foot baths can be prepared as an herbal tea. Place 6-8 tbsp of dried herbs into a quart glass jar or stainless or glass pot, cover with 4 cups of hot water, and let infuse for 5 minutes; then pour the herbs and hot water into an enamel or plastic dish pan that's only used for foot baths. Soak both feet in this tea once it reaches a comfortable temperature. My favorite herbs for foot baths include: calendula, lavender, comfrey leaves, lemon verbena, sage, rosemary, and fresh pine needles. Alternately, you can soak your feet in heated water along with 1-2 drops of a pure essential oil such as: lavender, rosemary, sage, pine, lemon grass, or rose geranium. (Only use pure essential oils, not synthetic ones; purchase essential oils from a company that does not sell essential oils made from at-risk or endangered plants like sandalwood. Essential oils are not as sustainable as dried herbs that you or other organic farmers grow.)
Hello Pat! Without knowing the weight of the 20 slices of astragalus root, it's difficult to share a recipe for tincture. You can, however, use the roots for preparing a tea. To make a root decoction: for 4 cups of tea, use approximately 6 tablespoons of dried root (for root slices, you will have to use your eyes to get a sense of tablespoons), pour water over the roots, and simmer for 30-40 minutes, covered. Drink 2 cups of tea/day, you can store the other 2 cups in a cool place and warm up the next day and drink as tea.
Hi Toby, you can collect arnica flowers on a sunny, clear morning once the dew has dried. Then, lay them out to dry on a non-metal screen.
