Direct Cremation Of Maine made what was a difficult time in our lives a very comforting experience. Amy was wonderful! I couldn't have asked for a more caring and helpful individual to guide us along the way. I feel she went above and beyond what one should expect and their services are very reasonably priced. Amy even helped answer questions that didn't pertain to their line of work and she also adjusted her schedule to coordinate with mine. Even though we lost a loved one, Direct Cremation of Maine made the process seamless. I would highly recommend them and if the occasion arises again, I wouldn't hesitate to use these wonderful people.

My husband passed away on 6/24/19. I chose this company because they came highly recommended. When the nurse at the hospice house called, she told the funeral home to be sure to come with two people because my husband was a large man - almost 300 pounds. One man arrived, and when the nurse asked why he came alone, she was told "sometimes people exaggerate". When it came time to bring him out to the hearse there was a very slight decline going out to the hearse and he couldn't stop the gurney, he overshot the hearse, tried to turn the gurney and it looked like it was going to tip over. Not only did I have to witness this, but so did our son and the entire facility staff. I asked if his ashes could be ready by Friday so we could have them at his Celebration of Life 2 days later. We were told they couldn't promise, but would try their best. Friday came and went without a call, so we assumed they weren't able to. 4 days later we still hadn't heard from them, so I called and was told his ashes had been ready since LAST FRIDAY! I asked why we hadn't been informed, and was told someone had tried to contact me, but I didn't answer. I told her nobody had left a voicemail, and the funeral director's reply was "it's sensitive information, perhaps they didn't feel they could". I looked at my missed call log and there were NO CALLS from them. The death of a loved one is difficult enough without such a fiasco. I would not recommend this funeral home to ANYONE!!
