There aren't many choices in Greek restaurants in the Lafayette area, but Parthenon is a decent one. It's a very nice, large, clean place and the food is on par with what you'd get at many larger and chain places. The gyros are solid. They're not as pumped full of flavor as you'd get at a hole-in-the-wall shave-that-meat-right-in-front-of-you authentic Greek restaurant, but they are hearty and fresh. I wasn't a fan of the Grilled Pork Kebab. The meat was sort of tough and not very flavorful. The Parthenon Burger here is surprisingly good. The meat has a lot of spices like gyro meat. I recommend avoiding the chicken tenders here. I had them once and they are the chicken-nugget mush stuff and overcooked. This is one of the few places that lists their drink prices upfront. More restaurants need this kind of transparency.

The food was awesome. I was not disappointed at all about the food. To me, the set up is a little strange. It is set up like a fast food restraunt and self serve, but also like a dine in restruant where the gentleman at the counter came to check on us and deliver food. When we asked for something, like an extra piece of pita, we had to pay upfront which made it seem more like a fast food restruant. Strange to me, but the food was great and the service was still good. Highly recommend.

The consistency in quality rivals that of a top fast food chain. I am never disappointed when I order from here and the taste is phenomenal. I try to go here at least once every month because it is local. The fries are crispy and thick. The gyros are a classic. Fantastic job by the owners and they set a great example by working hard alongside their employees.
