The most disappointing TJmaxx service I ever experienced at south Portland. I went to the fitting rooms to fit clothes and the lady who counted the clothes gave me a tag that indicates 10. Meaning 10 clothes. But I had 12 so she said leave the 2 and come back and grab it whenever you’re done with the other clothes. So I went back to grab the other 2 and the other older lady associate just screamed at me telling me to “come back here” she screamed like I was gonna steal it oh my gosh I didn’t even have a bag or anything with me! So I waited after she screamed at me she counted the clothes and asked me which ones I’m taking I said these. Then I said okay I’ll put it in my basket and she said no, you can just put it here on this basket. (The basket that was in front of her) and I was like no I have my basket here which is like 2 feet away from us and with my husband right in front of us. The older lady keep insisting AGAIN to put the clothes I picked in the basket that’s right in front of her. I said, I have my basket right here, here with my husband and he’s right here. Didn’t even say sorry. So embarrassing that she acted like I’m going to steal those clothes. I felt being racially profiled by her. Then as I passed by another older lady associate was talking on her radio while looking at me saying “yes she’s here I can see her, she’s got the clothes” like oh my god. I’m really out of words. Very disappointing and sad about what those older women did. I’ve never had this kind of experience before in any TJ maxx stores or any stores at all!! which I won’t ever dare to come back to be treated very poorly and morally low. Worked in a customer service industry for years and never treated anyone like that no matter the race or color.

I live in VA beach. This is a smaller TJ Maxx. but I found some wonderful things. I got a beautiful MK purse and an MK belt on sale. I also walked away with 2 dresses and a shirt. The store has a lot to look at for being so small. I found a beautiful, silver ring on clearance. The customer service was 100% better than where I live.

What can I say? Its my store for everything. I visit at least once a week just to get out of the house. Very good staff, social distancing and cleaning protocols. Love this store!

TJ Max is my favorite store. Today I had the worst time there bc I was followed by the staff throughout the store bc I used a tote bag instead of a dirty cart. So every 2 seconds I was asked if I needed help with something. This women, along with three other women followed my boyfriend and me throughout the store making us feel very uncomfortable! It only ended when my mother inlaw met up with us at the register to make our purchases.
