I really tried holding off on doing a review with hopes that the folks from the Retailer Mountain View Homes would make things right…but after seven months of waiting for them to make things right, I’m done. Buyer beware with Mountain View homes and their Golden West By Clayton homes product they offer. I’m not really sure where to start… *after many many months of promised delivery dates, our house was delivered in early February. It sat unassembled for about three weeks…In winter rain and snow! *they assembled the house and the North West point of the house is two inches higher then the rest of the house…when I tried to address it I was told “It is what it is…we can’t fix that…” *the marriage lines sat unsealed for three months…yup three months! We had to hire an exterminator to go in a eradicate wasps and bird nests… *their construction garbage was spread all over the place…instead of putting in the construction dumpster we had… *our block skirting took four months to complete…and it’s already starting to split at the grout lines. *Mountain View Homes didn’t return to finish the door jams. *Didn't return to fix a exterior door that bent during their botched set up of the house. *The appliance package is mix matched…when I was ordering it from MVH I was told “appliance are back ordered due to Covid…I guess you’ll get what you get.” Ummm…excuse me?! Some Clayton Homes Problems… *our sinks aren’t sealed…they pop up! *our laminate countertop is already failing. *the house came with subpar broken tile and caulking (which we, on multiple occasion asks for no tile). I really feel like our requests were ignored by our representative at Mountain View homes. Oh and BTW…it’ll cost me $4000 to have the tile taken down and the drywall repaired. *nails are poking out of the counter tops. The laminate countertop is starting to fail and bubble. *siding is splitting. *there’s broken cabinetry *light switches to no where… *a paddle fan “hook up” in the kitchen…we never ordered a paddle fan in the kitchen…MVH looked at my husband and said “you’re an electrician, you can fix that…” *non functioning GFCI - which I do have to give Clayton Homes credit for…they did get out and fix it. *water spots all over our entertainment center… And just all over shotty workmanship! Slop everywhere! Before purchasing we looked all over Washington! I felt like quality was the same across the board. I chose Mountain View homes because they are local! I thought it would be great to support working families here. I thought being able to walk in and talk face-to-face was a good idea. I am crushed that this happened to me and my family. We worked really hard to be able to afford this project…and now I’m having to spend about $30k to finish the job and do repairs…to a brand new home. Our project has a dispute on it now…thank goodness for bank inspectors! For sure a lesson learned and I feel foolish for going this route! I can honestly say that I would never use Mountain View homes again. And urge anyone considering them to come look at my project…

I would give a zero star if it would let me. Our home was set on June 1, 2017, it is now February 17, 2018 and I still live in an unfinished house. Craftsmanship is terrible and I still have NO HEAT in my master bedroom. Contacting attorneys today.

If you don't mind paying for a product that will not be what you paid for and you will not see for an unknown extended period of time, these are your guys. The sales office in Chehalis is absolutely awful as well. They have no communication skills and can hardly give you any information about the house. I feel like I have just paid a lot of money at a used car sales lot full of impounded cars. This factory is very similar to the sales company, they do not communicate or give you a completion date which makes permitting and planning life a difficult task in it's own. If you make the choice to shop here be prepared for having to babysit the whole process. They don't even give something as simple as a contract or receipt until you ask for it. We are 15 weeks past the completion date the sales in Chehalis gave us and a 5 weeks past the factories time. The only answer I get is "I'm not sure, I'll have to find out and call you back". Obviously I strongly suggest not going here for anything. We were recently given a date by a representative (Sean Hanna) of the company. The date has passed and the representative is not answering or returning calls. I strongly encourage everyone to take your business elsewhere.
