Building is clean, animals are well kept. And employees are knowledgeable.

I got my dog from Tina about 5 years ago and my mother shortly after adopted 2 kittens from Tina. She does amazing things for these animals and goes out of her way to rescue others. She also likes to keep in touch with the families that adopt from her to be sure the animals are placed in safe homes.

A neighbor and I rescue a maltese puppy. Thinking it will be the best for the puppy we contacted this rescue. Since the day they came to pick him up I kept in touch with her periodically to check on the dog. Every time I asked about the vet, if he went to get check, etc they won’t respond. On 1/30/19 I was informed he passed away. This was very heartbreaking, I asked for a confirmation from the vet or the vet contact information and they replied is was none of my business. I do not recommend this rescue, always do more research for your dogs and take care of them so they don’t suffer neglect. Hope my little friend rests in peace. He is one of the billions we humans fail to protect, miss you my friend.

At the end of January I adopted a puppy from Animal Welfare and Rescue, they told me that he was eating and drinking normally like a puppy should. They also told me that his vaccinations were up to date, which he should of has his second round for his age and only had received one. When they came to do a home visit they didn't check to see the condition of anything in the home or the back yard, she just sat for 30 mins and then said here you go and gave us the puppy. After being at our house for a couple of days he still wasn't eating or drinking normally. At first, we thought maybe he was just adjusting to a new home because they said that he was acting like a normal puppy when they had him. We took him to the vet and they told us he had Parvo, after being treated for two days we made the decision to let him go to heaven because he wasn't getting any better. The vet let us know that it was too late and he probably would never be the same because his temperature was too high. Even if this place is giving animals away with sickness' they should at least tell the new prospective owners so they can get their animals treated. After looking back at the situation there is no way they didn't know something was wrong with him because he was so lethargic, and when we got him we just thought this was his personality. I would not recommend getting a puppy from this rescue and because of the contagious nature of Parvo, puppies for the next year can still be susceptible. Even dogs are able to get it, the only way to be safe is if they have their annual vaccinations. Talking to the other gentleman who wrote the review we think that our pups were both at Tina's house (lady who takes care of dogs at Animal Welfare and Rescue) and they both passed days within each other.

Yes. They rescued an abanded chocolate lab puppy from Sandalwood. Someone actually saw the car and the owner yelling at the dog to get out of the car. How sad is that?
