Clean facility. Nice people. Lots of different and fun things to do such as the splash pad, basketball court, game room and more.

We went today and it was su much fun! I strongly recommend you buy your tickets online before, that’s what we did and we just entered super fast, but people who didn’t, had to make a huge lane. This place is great for babies, toddlers, teenagers, adults or elders, everyone will enjoy. Pools are not very deep and not quite small, there are guards all around and I felt safe. I’m sorry for not sharing any picture but I was just enjoying around my family, didn’t really think much about the phone. The price is low. The parking lot is big. Restrooms are clean and water in pools are clean as well. Great plan for spend a hot Saturday.

Their policy for refund needs to change, RIP OFF its more than a month before the activity and they charge $15 each students not per transactions. Their basketball program is the worse, no coaching, they just let the kids play. Its better in the park.. BEWARE of this... NEEDS to change

Very expensive but when Groupon has the reduction for this place it is totally worth it. I think they allow to much people in the same time but they have a lot of lifeguards. Like everywhere some adults are incredibly not behaving. Wish they were more strict about the bathing suits... Some women were suit up from head to toes with regular clothing... Not very hygienic...

Hi Alyzza, We apologize for the discomfort of the smell. Some people are more sensitive than others. Unfortunately we cannot open any windows as they are not designed that way. We will be replacing our HVAC (air handler unit) as well as getting fan systems in late August which will help but until then we have what we have. The smell is actually a chemical reaction with the chlorine from the pool and ammonia compounds produced from those in the pool (sweat, deodorant, perfumes, etc.) This reaction causes chloramines (the smell of chlorine in the air). If more people would shower prior to entering the pool the chloramines would be reduced substantially.
Around $260 depending on the room you get and if your a resident of Newark

Yes
If you can carry it inside your backpacks but you cannot consume it inside the pool area, you must go outside to the tables, a special area to eat, there they sell snacks and drinks but honestly it is not very good, I have brought a sandwich 🥪 and juices for hang out and all good. Good luck and have fun as a family.
As Bryan indicated below we do all all USCG approved lifejackets. We also have lifejackets to use on site.
With restrictions being lifted the maximum capacity is now 500. We are still requesting reservations to get in for recreation swim. For recreation swim, we require mask in the lobby when entering and in the locker rooms. However when you get to the pool desk you can remove as they are subject to getting wet. All of the features are open with exception of the hot tub. Rec swim times for reservation are: 2-3:30pm M-F, 12-1:30 and 2-3:30pm on SAT/Sun. To make a reservation go to this link, set up an account, select activity and weekday or weekend on the day/time you want. https://newarkca.activityreg.com/clientpage_t2.wcs
There are restrictions on occupancy. They have honored the membership to the swim classes in our cases. Best to stop by and find the particulars for the weight room. We have been going for the past week.
If we are open. We charge $ 11 per person Monday-Friday 2pm - 3:30 pm. Saturday and Sunday 12pm - 1:30 and 2pm - 1:30 pm. You need to register before coming https://newarkca.activityreg.com/selectactivity_t2.wcs

Here is a link for more info on membership rates: https://www.newark.org/departments/recreation-and-community-services/silliman-memberships
Pool temps are 83 degrees for lap pool and 84-84 for the lazy river and activity pools. We do have a spa which is at 103 degrees.
Hi Deana, We do have a small cafe that we operate on the weekends in the off season. Typical food ranges from Naan bread pizza's to hotdogs, nachos, soft drinks etc. Prices typically range from $3.50-$8 plus tax depending upon the particular item. Some are more and some are less.
We require traditional swim wear and not "street clothes" that are not made for swimming. You will need to bring your own swimsuit unless you wish to purchase swim trunks or swim shirt from us.
For recreation swim on weekdays we close at 4:30pm, 6:30pm on Sat, 5:30pm on Sun

Call the facility for the prices of the lockers. Google the "Silliman Aquatic Center " in Newark. Their phone number is on the website.
from where?
On Friday May 17th we will open at 5pm. There will be an entry line to wait in. When called up simply pay your $9 admission per person. We suggest you bring a lock to put your belongings in a locker or you can rent a lock for $2.
You find their hours on the website. Sunday hours are 6:30 am to 6:00 pm. They are open to the public. Here's their number 578-4620 for any other direct question
I would check the website, but in my experience once the waterpark is open the slides are as well.
temperature is a subjective thing for each individual. In the CPO Certified Pool Operators course they recommend pool temp for various types of swimming- 77-82 for training and fitness, 82 for recreational, 84-89 for instruction, and 90-93 for therapy. Most public pools are around 80. We keep our pools at the following: 84-85 for the Activity pool and lazy river, 83 for the lap pool, and 102 for the spa. Temps will fluctuate within 2 degrees either way but stay fairly constant. Most find our water warm or very good but some do not. Everyone is different. Any pool may feel slightly cool as you enter but as you move around and acclimate there are no issues.
No they are not. Waterslides are currently available on Sat/Sun until spring break week for Newark schools which is April 22-26. We will run waterslides daily during the summer season which begins June 17th.
Hi Tiffany, Robert was correct in his answer. We are not part of google but will respond to inquiries when we can. I am guessing for Friday you are asking about recreation swim and that would be 5pm. The party packages info is located on our website at www.newark.org.
Sorry for the delay in responding. Pools are heated, lap pool is 83 degrees. For lap swim children must be able to swim 2 lengths of the pool without stopping. If they can't do this then they can practice during recreation swim. For pool program times go to www.newark.org.
No

Yes you can.
I have personally seen groups of students and instructors at the center for end of year celebrations. You will need to call or visit the Silman Center to arrange your group visit. Be quick, space is limited and fills up fast.
My subjective opinion; that the lap pool is extremely cold. I have not taken a thermometer into the pool on the three days a week that I use that pool. It takes 3 to 5 minutes of exercise to stop finching at the water contact. That said I am in the pool as much as I can be.
Please call there hours its all right there
Call there number
They can’t open the windows, the weren’t designed that way.
