I hate to leave a 3 star because the food is incredible and deserves 5, but we had terrible service. We were first seated at a table that was not there, then sat at the bar. They sat us right next to where the waitresses came to place orders or pay tickets and kept getting rudely bumped into. (We said nothing, at the time just asked to be seated at a table when it was available.) Once we got a table the waitress took a long time to come over. Took our drink order and came back, 20 minutes later. Yes the place was busy, but there were 4 people waiting tables and the hostess was clearing them when people left so it was not due to a staff shortage. Ordered our food and 45 minutes later it was there. From sitting and observing, ask for Chelsea. She was a very happy waitress. Now the food was amazing! We tried the bao buns with steak. Absolutely delicious. The cucumber gave it such a fresh flavor, the bun was so soft and delicious. Highly recommend them! The volcano bowl was very good. It had a type of pulled pork that was so tender and flavorful. It was not, however, hot at all. Still delicious, I just asked for more Sriracha sauce . The oishii burger is like nothing I have tried before. Deep fried in panko bread crumbs, very moist not at all dry. The shredded cabbage on top was a nice touch. Definitely would get this again.

Did not expect this modern and creative restaurant in the burbs. It sits in a very average strip mall, but then you walk in and feel like you’re in a modern space in Japan. Excellent flavors on both appetizers and mains. Service was excellent.

Why is this place not packed with people? I think I have found a hidden gem of deliciousness. I had the namesake Oishi Burger with pork belly and it was cooked to perfection. We as a family shared the pork belly waffle fries and it would seem we were fighting to reach the bottom they were so good. The tiramisu with mochi was an interesting twist on the traditional dessert. I cannot wait to return to explore. The rest of the menu and take a tour of the culinary offerings of Oishi Burger..

This place was spotless and clean with a bright, airy, and inviting atmosphere. The service was top-notch and our drinks were refilled before they were half empty. Our server was friendly and helpful and greeted us within 60 seconds or less. The food was equally as amazing as it looked. The appetizers were served quickly and the entrees arrived immediately after. Menu pricing is extremely reasonable for the quantity and enjoyment your taste buds receive. This restaurant truly stands out in Virginia Beach and is an amazing twist on Japanese cuisine.
