Hello Clarence, a K-1 fiance visa is used to bring the foreign fiance to the U.S. with the purpose of getting married (you have to get married within 90 days). The green card through marriage is process to get a green card for the foreign spouse. You do this once you are married. So for example a common route would be: - Applying for a fiance visa so the foreign fiance can enter the country. - Once she/he is here, get married. - Once married, apply for a green card through marriage.
