I loved it here. The day nurses were really nice, night time ones not so much but you only interact with them for a few hours. They’ll ask for your consent to take your blood and etc and you can deny it without consequences. Groups were actually pretty fun. We did karaoke and played games. Although they can be triggering sometimes depending on what you’re going through but you can tell the nurses and they’ll let you leave. The food here was decent and sometimes they’ll have you choose what you want to eat the next day. You kinda get a break from the outside world and a chance to work on yourself here. There’s a reason they call it grippy sock vacation ;))

Pray to god you're not placed here for mental reasons. They will extend your hold regardless if you were actually brought in with good reason. They technically should discharge you when you're no longer impaired but they make more profit if they hold you longer and they can hold you without any evidence for 4 extra days. Report to the department of public health if you believe this occurred to you. Involuntary patients are piggy banks since they cannot deny treatment therefore the hospital bill the patients for whatever the hospital claims. Patients may have to even pay out of pocket if they do not have insurance which can become a significant amount. Conditions like these allows mal practice and insurance fraud left uncheck since no one believes the mentally ill regardless of their type of illness or its severity. Any words against the hospital simply give them reason to hold you longer. This place really is the closest thing to a prison. Actually, I would argue that prison now-a-day has more accountability for the welfare of its occupants.

The staff were super nice. I really liked the main psych doctor. Food wasn’t so bad. Of course it sucked but I recommend anyone looking at these reviews wondering if you should go inpatient or even just call them - do it. I am connected to so many resources now and feeling so much better and a lot of relief.

The detox is a great start. Don't read the reviews. I just discharged and was fine. They'll take care of you, just be honest and open about what youre feeling and how much you drink and use etc
