Ex-quarry converted to lake & park in 1975 by the County. Lake occasionally stocked with trout from Dept of Fish & Game, but people are advised not to consume bass/carp due to mercury. No swimming or boating either (DDT & lead). Organizations are actively planting trees & native greenery in the area, along with trails & signage for bikes, horses, & pedestrians. Bird feeding is allowed, and there's a territorial hummingbird buzzing at me right now. Restrooms are fairly clean. Area less trashy. Nice connection to Rio Hondo river path.

Great place! Relaxing, not over populated. Fishing. No swimming.

Yes there is public fishing. But there are signs posted not to eat the fish. You can always go to Santa Fe Dam recreation area. You can fish, picnic, bbq there It's a really nice area.
Good idea. There are rangers there you might want to ask them if it's ok. If not I'm sure you can leave it with them and they'll relocate it for you.
Can you swim
