Where do I start, there is no better place to have a wedding than at Black Gold. Since the first day we went to view the venue to even months after the wedding. Joni is so amazing to work with, she cares about you as a couple, you wedding vision, and every thing in between. any request we had with the venue or for the wedding she was always available and super responsive. Joni goes above and beyond her duties to make sure you have the best wedding ever, I can't thank her enough. Also, Marco the wedding captain is just the sweetest person in the whole world. My dad has trouble walking and Marco took the time to make sure my dad got where he needed to be at the venue and got my dad there safe. During the reception he always made sure I had food or a drink at my table. I can't find the words to express my appreciation for Joni and Marco, what they did for our wedding is beyond words. Now the food was so good and the venue itself is very elegant. I got so many compliments about the lemon chicken and salmon. For pictures, this place is stunning!! Ceremony location is breathtaking and the golf course views during couples pictures are beyond beautiful. If you are looking for the perfect place to get married Black Gold is the place. I enjoyed this course with my son. This course layout was varied and entertained us a lot. All the staff are kind. I want to challenge this course again.

(10/19/21) This track is very challenging, even for a single digit handicapper! Conditions are normally excellent, however prices can be very steep during the weekends or early morning times. This course is well rounded, but not worth anything over $90. I recommend playing weekdays for best pricing, playing twilight if possible (only $70 and still able to finish all 18! Greens are extremely difficult, hard as a rock and hard to approach on, but roll truest and are the best part of the course. Fairways are even and healthy. The rough is medium thick and dried, but Great surrounding hill views of the OC skyline (on clear days you can see the ocean). Tee boxes were recently punched and still healing. Sand bunkers have fresh sand. Carts are extra comfy and have Shark GPS technology. The course has IGLOO water stations again. Pace of play was a little slow, but thats to be expected at twilight times (130pm tee time). Right now, 2pm is the cutt off time to finish all 18 holes.
