Cortez at Owens meats is the man of the year!Great customer service, great guy and all around team player. It is clear that this place is an establishment that values their employees and customers… The Meat… Division 1… 10/10!! #thegoodstuff

Owens meats is one of the best small-town family-owned meat markets you will ever find, if you're looking for quality made pepperoni, jerky, or smoked sausages look no further, my favorite is the good stuff, the Customer service is unmatched. Try getting that from a big store chain like Safeway.

EDITED TO ADD: I see that one of the owners has commented and while it is appreciated, the comment didn't address the concerns noted in the review at all. Was that comment just cut and pasted from somewhere else? I mentioned the sky high prices but also said the meat is worth the cost. I didn't say that was a problem, just the lousy service behind the counter. Maybe Doug would take a minute to read the entire review and tell us what he is doing to correct that lousy attitude his employees are putting on display. You cannot put a price tag on customer service. Owens Meats is a long time staple of the Cle Elum, WA community. It used to be the nicest place to buy meat anywhere in the PNW. But something has changed. Not only are the prices sky high, there is an arrogance in the shop that never existed in the past. I don't know if their increasing customer base has caused this or the shift to a different type of person behind the counter, but this 5 star facility has definitely lost a star in the customer service department. That isn't to say the meat is not excellent - this is the best you'll find just about anywhere. When you visit, be sure to check out the little freezer over on the east end of the shop. It's filled with delicious surprises. All the products are great, there's no doubt about that. But the people behind the counter act like the customer is a distraction to their game playing and horsing around. Where are the owners? This never used to be the way that Owens was run. I'd also encourage those behind the counter to spend some of their free time cleaning the place. There was debris on the floor last time I was in and bloody smears on the glass where the meat is stored. Obviously butcher shops will have blood, but if the team is so bored they have time to play games with each other, they also have time to pick up a broom or a cloth and do some cleaning. I hope Owens pays attention to these reviews - I know I am not the only person who feels this way, and this is a shop worth preserving and supporting. Again, the meat is the BEST. Be sure to try the brats.

Good afternoon, I am on the road at this moment but I believe they are $3.89 lb. Please give us a call at 509-674-2530 to verify and make arrangements for ordering. Thank you very much, Don Owens
Hello Grayson, we don't ship any fresh meats but we do ship our Beef and Turkey jerky as well as the pepperoni. We typically don't have a maximum distance for shipping. Please let us know if we can help you! The Owens Gang
Hello Ashley. Our spicier "All Beef pepperoni" and our "Land Jaeger" do not have soy in them. The Yard long and the rest of our smoked sausages do have a small amount of Soy Grit in them. There are typically two types of what is called a "binder" in sausage. Soy Grit or powdered milk. We do use soy grit in most of our sausages to keep the meat from crumbling apart after the smoking process. There are many more folks that are lactose intolerant than there are people who have any issues with soy. I hope this helps :)
Please just give us a call at 509-674-2530 and we will take your order and get all the shipping information. Thank you for reaching out!
No the stampede has gone by
Hi Mark, actually all of our sausages and marinated meats are gluten free. The beef jerky does have gluten though. Thank you for your patronage. Doug

Just give us a call at 509-674-2530 or if you are in the Tacoma area stop in to our brand new market in the Point Ruston Public Market on Ruston way. Our Point Ruston market is open M-Sat 11-7 pm and Sunday 11-6 pm. Hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely, Don
No you have to go to the store in Cle Elum
Hello and thank you for reaching out to us. No. It is grain fed. We only handle choice and prime beef and grass fed beef rarely if ever grades choice or prime. With grass the beef takes longer to grow so it won't have the extra nutrients it takes to put marbling in the muscle the same time the muscle is growing so grass fed doesn't have the great flavor and is usually much tougher. Thank you, Don
There's also one at Point Ruston at the new development by Frazelli's Pizza in the breezeway.
Hi Cyndi, it depends on the temperature of your fridge but 2 weeks from the purchase date should not be a problem. Thank you for shopping with us and we look forward to seeing you soon!

We do periodically make a really good Linguisa. Thank you for checking in with us! Don Owens
