Nice park. I just wish there were more places to fish. Can't fish here.

Great park for a picnic. Well maintained now. The renovation is very nice. Landscaping has been kept up very well and the goose poop is down to a minimum. Don't feed the wildlife here as you can be fined.

Veterans Park, formerly known as Village Pond Park, was re-dedicated after more than a year of redesigning, draining and installing . I haven't been to this park in several years because it was often over run with ducks and geese along with their numerous droppings. The look and smell was definitely unappealing The redesigned park now features meandering sidewalks, an updated lake shore, a butterfly garden and a veterans monument to honor members of each branch of the armed forces - living up to the park's new name. On our visit yesterday, we found a clean and well maintained park. The village put considerable effort to scare away the wildfowl and we saw only three ducks in the water. We were pleasantly surprised to even find a small heron on the island. Do not bring food for the ducks as a hefty fine is possible. The walking path was about 1/2 mile long with plenty of places st stop and rest or enjoy the view. New trees were planted as well as numerous plants and flowering bushes. There were several picnic tables also. No parking lot but plenty of street parking.

Beautiful newly renovated park. Only issues - wish there a play ground and maybe have some of the tables be shaded. We loved it!

Not just allowed, they also have a doggy drinking fountain and free bags to pick up after your dog. So very dog friendly.
Good question. When I was there they had several "animals" spread around the park. Did they just move them to new locations?
Should be open. Completely redone. It's beautiful;
It will not be shocked. Having fish in the ponds causes algae and a buildup of problems because of the fish natural Life patterns and secretions. They are going to try to keep the water clear and clean.
I don't think it is. They don't even want the ducks there either.
