For the most part I am not a person to complain about customer service, however, today I will complain about this 99 cents stores customer service. Two days ago I purchased a ladder for $6.99 but I decided to return it since it wasn’t functional for my project. Once I decided to return it I couldn’t find my receipt, but the ladder was new and intact so I decided to just ask for an exchange because I was going to buy more items anyways. I entered the store and spoke to an employee about my situation they responded “yes you can just do an exchange its fine.” As soon as I’m next in line, I start to explain to the cashier that I am doing an exchange but as soon as the assistant manager Ericka shows up. She starts to argue with my daughter and I that it can’t be returned because it has to be before the 9 days (when in fact I told her I just bought it 2 days ago). It didn’t make sense since a previous employee approved my return. She then said “you don’t have the receipt either so I can’t help you.” My daughter then tried to explain that she use to work at the 99 and the manager can make an exception if it’s below 9 items but she denied to make an exception. I’ve been a 99 cents store customer for 20+ years and I have never encountered such a difficult, rude, and unprofessional 99 cents store assistant manager I am not impressed. My unpleasant experience will direct my business elsewhere and I won’t be returning back to this store. If I must say anything this 99 is by far with the worst customer service and assistant manager. I recommend not shopping here if you desire excellent customer service.
