Went there for a car show. It was really nice to see all yhe custom cars. And some of the trains was also great to see. The city really put a lot of time to put on a good show. I will go back to see the train museum.

Great, family fun that is very affordable! $40 got 2 adults and 2 kids a ticket to ride all 3 trains available ALL DAY! It is free entry to walk around and look at everything. The trolley also gave tidbits of information as we drove around. Just delightful! This is a great place to visit for those of all ages.

A decent train museum. The train museum is free to enter. You have to pay if you want to take the train rides and most of the excitement among kids are for the train rides. There are three trains over the weekend. One trolley ride which is random. If there are people they just take them around for a ride for a short route and has three stops. The diesel and electric trains are the other two rides and take same routes and 30 minutes apart. See image with schedule for details. It took us $12 per adult and $8 per kid from 5-12. Under 4 ride free. (May 2022).

Definitely kind of a hidden gem if you are a train lover. Its not a very high end place but the staffs are super friendly and you will get chance to have a very close look of some very old locomotives they are still maintaining in museum. The weekend train ride is a plus if you are member otherwise you have to buy the ticket for same.Watch out their page for mothly events. Visited couple of times and every time my kid enjoyed the ride.

Day Out with Thomas is in November https://socalrailway.org/scrm-events/thomas/
There are 6 that the country has to share, which is why this museum has to wait until november
The Red Lion hotel is in perris and very close to the museum, and if you ask for the skydiver discount they should give you a discount on the room. I haven't used any ride share apps after covid, however I would imagine they are cheaper. If you are lookig for a nicer place than the red lion, airbnb or the Fairfield in Murrieta are also great choices.
