Unorganized. Books in cart after cart awaiting shelving. Books shelved in wrong places. Same fiction author books found in 4 different places. Staff is nice…but.

This is a great library - and part of an excellent library system. It's easy to search and reserve books from throughout the system and have them delivered to your closest location for check out. Readers are leaders. We are friends of the library and everyone should visit and support our local library. Really do wish the Friends of the Library would finally offer online sign-up and donations ... So behind the times ...

Out of the several libraries I've been to in the San Diego area, this one is by far one of the larger ones. There is a massive child section with small tables and small chairs. There is a community room where they hold community events and library-sponsored activities. There is also an area with several large tables and in which talking is permissible; you will often find young children being tutored in this area. There are several private single-person booths located throughout the library. Like any library, the seats near the plugs are often occupied, so bring your laptop with a full charge! Similar to most establishments in San Diego, this place can become quite busy around peak times: 2-3ish (when the local schools let out). Because the library is centrally located in Carmel Valley and is near a middle school and an elementary school, parents will come to the library to pick their kids up. The parking situation is often a mess at this time. Also, at the time that these schools let out, you will notice an influx of grade and middle-schoolers flood the computers and many of the study desks. The staff is very accommodating and friendly.

I'm pretty sure they do

I reserved a book last week that was supposed to be in transit, arriving on Friday, Jan. 4. How do I find out if the book is in?
