Arrived right on time. Did the work (replacing a front door handle and lock) without a hitch, made extra keys on the spot, cleaned up nicely, and even helped fix another door knob for free. Great service, kind people, efficient.

After ignoring me for a minute, the guy says "What do you want?" without looking up. Then gives me a hard time about not knowing the name of the style door handle I'm looking for and brought with me. He said "that's not going to help us out". I was hoping to get help, not give it. I was quite surprised by the attitude I got. They may do great work, though, I'll never know.

I used to go in and buy things all the time since I live right around the corner. Today I went in to pick up some items and got yelled at because I didn't have a mask. There's no more mask mandate and I'm fully vaccinated. The guy was incredibly rude about it as well. Go to Ace hardware on Geary down the street. Better selection and much nicer staff.

I worked at a rival hardware store (Roberts) in SF for 18 years and Crown was the place we recommended when it was something we didn't carry or an out-call locksmithing job. Very dependable, reasonably priced. Not one of those franchise rip-offs that suddenly doubles or triples the price when they get there.
