well i decided to go to gelson in encino location and bought some ready made food from a food bar, some rice, chicken and so on. as soon as i went to check out line the cashier tolld me just to let you know the rice is $20.00 per pound for the sticky rice. I was shocked to know how expensive this particular rice is. I wonder how they price their merchantise. I am not happy with their ready made food. I guess i will change supper market. the only good thing about Gelson is their bakery department I highly recommend it.

Mathew Mayersohn just broke the law at the Gelson’s store in Encino. I walked inside with my Labrador retriever as I’m an American with a disability. He was all over me. He was saying if your dog is an emotional support dog it doesn’t count. He says if he’s a pet that doesn’t count. He did said that he wasn’t disputing histories of disability etc. Nevertheless I have never had an issue at Whole Foods and I never had an issue at the Rancho Mission Viejo grocery store or at restaurants. So it was shocking. I recommend maybe the Sherman Oaks Gelsons as Mathew Mayersohn targets customers and harasses them from my personal experience in the Encino store. I’ll contact corporate to complain.

Delicious pastries of own production, I prefer to buy bakery products here. Large selection of homemade food. But a very small selection of meat. Fruit at an incomprehensibly expensive price. And specifically in this store: the employees of the fruit and vegetable department are constantly sorting out, shifting, boxes around, do not approach

It’s always two things that make me love to shop at Gelson’s….the quality of the products and the quality of the staff. They are both unparalleled. I’ve been shopping there for years and though the prices are a bit higher, the quality and service more than makes up for it. Also, I’m in the Gelson’s Rewards program so every once in a while I get a nice little basket of goodies, or $5 off the bill. What could be better. Whenever they ask me, how’s my day going, I always say, it’s always going great when I’m at Gelson’s, and I totally mean it.
