Our experience with Pet Emergency & Specialty Center was nothing short of outstanding from beginning to end. In a very stressful situation, the staff were all incredibly kind and compassionate. From the beginning, I was given thorough explanations of the plan they had and why they wanted to do each diagnostic test. I was encouraged to visit and hug my cat goodnight. I received regular updates throughout his stay and was told I could call any time. Whenever I called I was immediately able to speak to his doctor. Every time I spoke with someone, it was clear the staff were treating him as they would their own pet. I truly felt the love they had for him. We were there the night before a holiday (Easter) and through the holiday weekend, but even on a holiday, staff seemed happy to be at work. We worked with many different employees and doctors throughout the stay, and each interaction was a positive one. The visit was expensive but this is what is to be expected from emergency care. They did what they needed to do to triage and find the problem. Other vets might try one thing at a time, but it's their job to throw 100 darts and hope one sticks. I expected it, and as a result, they did identify the problem, and we were able to take our Kenny home a few days later with a plan to correct it. I'm very grateful for their care, and wouldn't hesitate to drive the hour and a half from home (if able) to get any of my pets into their care in another emergency.

The Vets are great but the staff are not flexible. I have had 4 dogs come through this establishment since 2004. The vets are wonderful people. And if you can get passed the staff who do not communicate very well you get very good service. I made an appointment for one of our dogs who has been seen by this hospital since she was a puppy. She is now 13 years old. I had to work and my husband had an appointment in Mission Valley so he was going to drop her off there on his way meeting and then pick her up. He didn't know he couldn't drop her off. So when he got there the staff made him mad and he told them he would go else where. My husband didn't make the appointment I did and there was no communication nor text message that the appointment had been cancelled. My husband didn't tell me anything and he would have had he known that it was cancelled. The lady at the front desk didn't communicate to my husband anything. She made him angry. So guess what I did? I went there with my dog and I got angry too. Do I want to get angry in public when I thought this was simple and logical drop off. I had my oldest son come with me so he could use my credit cards to pay for my dogs shots. The lady at the front desk made an assumption and didn't communicate to me or my husband that our appointment had been cancelled. So I am feeling better but I am very sad that the people who staff that office are not trained in how to communicate with people; maybe its because they can only relate to animals. I don't know but sadley my 3 dogs and I need to move on.

Super grateful for this team of dedicated professionals! From the front desk to the back they are welcoming kind and very caring. I can never thank them enough for giving my Great Dane the critical care that she need. We live in the Imperial Valley where we have just one Vet who works tirelessly everyday to handle the load of animals. He is the best but does not do after hours calls. I would highly recommend this facility! And yes you can expect a high than average bill . THIS IS FOR EMERGENCIES PEOPLE! It is well deserved. In case you did know there is a nationwide shortage of veterinary’s. May talk to you children about entering an Animal Science Program and get started. Regardless of what’s going on in this crazy world,we all hold our pets with super high regards and will always need a veterinarians expertise. Cheers to you all…Love Luna and Mom

My 11 month old puppy needed Emergency surgery to remove three rocks from her stomach and intestines. The Vet explained the procedure and made me feel at ease that she and her staff would be able to perform surgery. I would recommend this Vet. to anyone who wants a loving supportive staff who really cares about your pet. The Vet even called me at 7:00 p.m. to check on her progress.
