Gas stations have signs that say it’s illegal to fill gas containers that are over six gallons in size. Is this really true? Can we really not get big containers filled?

You could call them (OSFM) and ask for the Codes Section. You could call the local fire department first. They should have the answer.

Is it s requirement OR a recommendation to replace smoke alarms after 10 years of the manufactures date?

It's not a requirement for the public and is recommended. Smoke alarms with a 10 year battery typically do not have replaceable batteries. Also after 10 years the sensors in the alarm have degrigated and may not function properly.

Call the reception desk and tell them you want to make notification to the Fire Marshal's Office and they will help you get to the right department, i.e., hazardous materials to CR2K, or any other department depending on who you need to notify.
