Anyone who likes being on the water is going to love this place. I paddled all the way to the ocean which is only a few miles according to the map. It passes under three bridges and over a dam. The weather was perfect and nature is absolutely gorgeous.

Several places in Florence and at the lake. One is on the trail
When we went there was little to no current. The only difficult paddling we faced was crossing the lake to the river and back - it was difficult to fight the wind. It is around 3+ miles each way. I'm not sure about the landing or shuttle, as we rowed back up from before the end. The river is so lazy that there is virtually no difference rowing up versus down. There is a rental kayak area - they may offer a shuttle, but we brought our own craft.
