Really enjoyed renting bikes and checking out the carriage roads at Acadia NP. Beautiful way to see the main part of the park and you don't have to look for parking! We were the unlucky recipients of flat tires, but once we got a signal, the shop immediately delivered us a replacement bike within 5-10 min. Made a frustrating experience that much better!

The directions from the shop to the bus stop to go into the park are terrible. Here are good directions... left out of shop down to Holland Street, then left up slight hill to a T, then right to back of daycare. Pickup is in parking lot between daycare and Michigan Ave.

Wonderful e bike I rented, would not have been able to see and enjoy all those 27 miles with out it. The bike is heavy, and it was perfect they delivered it at the Hull Cove visitor center and they picked it up there! Such a wonderful experience

I had a medical emergency a few miles out of Bar Harbor and was on a different path than my friends took. I had to call 911 and go to the ER. The owner charged me $100 to pick up the bike claiming that it took an hour of labor to drive five minutes to where the bike was and that he had to use his own gas which could not have been more than half a gallon. They also said they did not have the staff to spare to go pick the bike up yet part of their business is driving out to people and replacing the bike if it is damaged. When called out on it he then changed his story saying how it was irresponsible of me to leave a bike unsupervised and that I should be lucky I wasn't charged for the whole bike. It was left with the police so it wasn't unsupervised. When I initially picked the bike up I was also told by two different employees that I did not need to lock my bike and could leave it anywhere. "No one on Bar Harbor ever steals rental bikes." Frankly based on the current quality of the bikes it probably would have been cheaper to pay for the whole bike. This was very unethical and was clearly them trying to make a cheap profit. There was a group of six people looking to rent bikes outside the shop who asked me and my friends about this place and were steered away so he already lost more than the $100 he's trying to screw me over for if anyone likes karma. There is another bike rental place on the same road. The bikes looked like they were a lot nicer and in better condition. I cannot speak on the quality of their customer service but it cannot be worse than this place.

We actually don’t have e-bikes at this time. Thanks for your question!
Hi, call them for rates. A tandem, I think, is $62/day. Just make sure the tires are pumped up. We rented a tandem mid-August 2019 and it was fine but the tires were a little low. Otherwise we had great and friendly service and they were able to clearly guide us to the nearest carriage roads to use for our ride. We also went on one of their 2 1/2 or so kayak group trips - and we had an excellent time. The van ride to the shore is a bit cramped but no big deal and the time on the water is just glorious. So worth it! Enjoy!

Hi Linda. A full-day rental is $99 per bike. Give us a call at 207-288-9605 and we'll share availability with you!
They have hybrid and comfort cruisers available as well as a selection of 26" hardtail mountain bikes.
We are planning to rent electric bikes at our sister store, Acadia Outfitters. We're waiting on their arrival, so they're not on the website yet, but will be soon!
The carriage roads are still open but we closed for the season yesterday. Sorry we can’t help out!
We do not rent electric assist bikes.
Yes, we are!

There is a bicycle shuttle, run by the Island Explorer bus system, that will take you from the Village Green in downtown Bar Harbor to the north end of Eagle Lake, where you'd connect with the carriage road system. The Village Green is just a block from our location. If you'd like to ride to the carriage roads, the closest is a 1.7 mile ride from our shop.
