Great walk. It was also a trip down memory lane, since I no longer live in Lewiston. As with any venture in the outdoors these days, though, I do reccomend a thorough post-walk tick-check.

Great place to walk or jog. Lots of trails. Different distances. Ponds , fireplaces, wildlife

Excellent spot. Easy but varied and well marked and maintained trails. There is variation in the length of the trails so you can do an easy, short walk if preferred. There are also enough trails to support a second visit, which I plan on doing. From one spot you can see the eastern edge of the white mountains. There is a nice stream running through the place. The stone benches and fire places are visually interesting. It's always nice to be in nature and this place doesn't disappoint. The fact that it is just minutes away from downtown Lewiston is quite nice. Note: No dogs are allowed per the sanctuary rules. The park closes at 8pm and does have a gate.

My son walks here everyday. He got me to start walking too. This place is fantastic. If you don't have a kid to bring, borrow one.. they'll make the walk so much better :)

Great idea! But this is not monitored by the people that manage Thorncrag. I think we should pursue this!!!
Don’t see many birds. Don’t think my dog would harm one anyway, especially being on a leash.
No Browntails at the Sanctuary as of today or last week, Have seen some in the Livermore Falls/ Auburn Area, but Throncrag is clear!
It's a decent hike, could be short (1hr), or long (3+hrs), depending on where you hike. It is basically a loop, but there are moderate inclines, and off-shoots that meet up at different parts. It is a very interesting spot, very peaceful, and is a deep-woods feel, right inside the city of Lewiston; you could think you're miles from civilization.
