This place is always swapping out beers and changing things up, which is a big plus. What I like most about this place is they brew a wide range of various types of beers, so it's easy for most people in your party to find something they like. Most importantly, the "types of beers" they call them in their descriptions match up really well. IPAs and pale ales in general aren't my choice of beer, but their hazy IPAs and milkshake IPAs always have me trying them. Simply put, they got enough variety in beer flavors that its hard not to find one you like. Other bonuses include a cool theme for a brewery, cool merchandise, and always great service. Hard not to like this place.

Great atmosphere and customer service! Open room with a long table in the middle, reminiscent of A European style gathering where strangers can commune with each other over beer, with separate seating interspersed. BYOF since they don’t have a kitchen. Beer is pretty good. Wee Heavy Scotch ale is my favorite.

Ambiance is great. Beer is absolutely horrific. Every beer made me regret decisions made in life... I talked to a few others while haniging out. Not many seem to like it. I have never been to a brewery and thought I would never be back. Edit: your beer is just gross. Nothing to do but make better beer. edit 6-27-21: I heard you fired the brewer for not sanitizing. I hope my review helped bring that to your attention. The beer is still not great. We had one and left.

After seeing the information on the website, I decided to make the trip out and give Mad Hatchet a go. I was one of the first customers in for the day, and as such was warmly greeted by Teresa, who was behind the bar. She informed me that all but one of the brews were available. The layout of Mad Hatchet is open with ample natural lighting from the spacious window dominating the Eastern wall. The bar is small, with eight stools available, bit there are long tables and window seating throughout, so space is not an issue. The star of the show, the microbrewery, is on full display, visible to anyone who is curious and wants to see where these brews come from. I decided on the Island Quarantine Milk Stout, and was impressed with its sweetness and full-bodied flavor. The Head Brewer, Foz, made a point to introduce himself to me, and we briefly chatted about preferred beer styles. I then chose the "Top of the Muffin to Ya" Kettle Sour, and was blown away by the full blueberry aroma, and the approachable lightness of the brew. I have to tell you, though, the Nightwalker Porter was an in-your-faced full-roasted coffee experience, and is not for the faint of heart. I ended my tour with "This Is Your Grain On Hops", a West Coast IPA, which had a full floral profile, strong (but approachable) hops, and a good visual profile. Overall this experience is affordable (and enjoyable), with tasters costing $3 and full pours being $5, on average. Mad Hatchet has been in business for a very short time, and is full of energy and potential. Stay alert for upcoming events and and featured food trucks (this is a tap house with no kitchen). It is good to see another craft brewery in the area, and I look forward to further developments.
