The first stop on S. Michigan Avenue via the Prairie Avenue Neighborhood walking tour, and by far, the most memorable. This church has the most compelling arts and crafts era motifs and glass work shown throughout the walls, glazing, and vestibule, and the Tiffany windows are outstanding. It is a spellbinding experience to visit this monumental Chicago church. Post multiple fires in this church history, the interior embellishments remain in fine condition, and available for viewing today.

The Second Presbyterian Church is one of the prettiest churches I've been in with the most beautiful stained glass windows I've seen outside of European cathedrals. Each window is beautifully crafted and many have their own stories from this church's troubled past (the church burnt down and was rebuilt 2-3 times). Admission is free and so is the tour, though donations are encouraged since this place is in dire need of restoration. So if you are in the area for any reason, stop in. The docent who showed me around was amazing and nice and knew all about the history of the windows. I highly recommend it for anyone who wanted to see a hidden treasure in Chicago and is on a budget.
