Bought over twenty yards of garden mix this spring, to fill raised beds. I keep adding fertilizer to it, because everything was yellow. I bought a soil tester it showed almost no fertilizer. So if you buy garden mix take a soil tester with you and test before buying

The custom mix does not contain mushroom compost, but does contain other composted nutrient rich materials such as kelp meal, feather meal, and bat guano. Custom mix is considered complete and ready to plant as-is. Adding straight mushroom compost to the mix will lower the pH of your mix and make it quite a bit richer. Sensitive plants will likely struggle in such a "hot" mixture. That's assuming you're doing 3 parts custom to 1 part compost. If you're going the other way, more compost than custom, it's going to be waaay to hot. -Trina
