I ordered a chicken burrito That I thought was very good and much to my liking. I ordered some steak quesadillas for a appetizer and my partner had steak tacos. The steak was very oily and of ground beef texture. They didn’t enjoy there dishes.

The service was excellent as Always !! And let me tell you the Food was Delicious !!!!! The portions are big enough to feed at least two people. Their Margaritas are to die for ! Very nice atmosphere. They also have a patio for outside dining. Tons of parking, including handicapped parking right at the front door. The food is authentic. Not too many places like this one anymore ! I would recommend it to anyone ! 5 stars

By far one of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever been to. I've been to many and this takes the cake. Taste just like the old Mexican grandma that lived next door to me and called me mijo growing up takes me right back to those days hands down. Staff is super friendly helpful and wonderful people. Would recommend this place 10/10 times to anyone

I live in Texas and was in town visiting family. Let's just say I was very impressed that actual Mexican food taste so delicious up here. I love to eat and have been eating all over McHenry but El Gordo was one of the best! I even got to meet the owner and the staff, they were the best!
