Thank you Lisa and Ira. We love our Becky. Definitely will recommend Greyhound Angels. This is our second time adopting from them. They are the best.

Let me preface this by saying we were in the community of GAA adopters for 15 months and most people have had great success with GAA. They have wonderful staff and volunteers and I truely believe they love the dogs. Great for boarding too! I don’t want to give a bad review, just a word of caution: If you have kids (newborn-teenage years), plan to have kids, or will ever have your dog around kids— please be very thoughtful of what dog is best for your situation. We are adults that had to return two different greyhounds because they were not safe for kids. Now, I personally would recommend against adopting a retired greyhound if your current or future situation involves or kids. We are first-time dog owners and didn’t realize that their level of fear reactivity towards us, house guests, and our vet was beyond what new adopters typically have to manage. We worked with the first dog for 6 months and the second dog for 9 months (with a trainer) before realizing it was simply not a safe fit for us. In hindsight, my advice would be: (1) before you agree to a dog, use the meeting time with Lisa to carefully evaluate their temperament. Check that their body, paws and snout can be safely handled (to be able to groom, clip nails and brush teeth). Note that their behavior may change over time after they’re home. Our second dog showed no signs of reactivity until 2 months. Then by 5 months she would snap at my arm if I went to put on the leash. Of course this can go the other way, and behaviors can improve with the right training. Though I wouldn’t take the chance if there are kids involved. (2) Contact Lisa directly to notify her of all incidents of fear reactivity. We should have done this earlier, and more frequently. Don’t consult the GAA Facebook group. And don’t feel like you can’t bring the dog back if the temperament is not a good fit for your experience level. Dogs with fear reactivity deserve the right care and management and you deserve to feel safe around your companion. I’m sure people blame us as the owners, and I admit that we’re were newbies and had a lot to learn. But if this advice can help at least someone with kids in their life it will be worth it. We still love both dogs deeply, and wish them futures filled with love and frozen chicken feet.

They are very informative about the greyhounds. She will not answer any vet questions. And seems to be shady about vet information. They high adoption fees. Which shows that she is in it for the money. When I was there the dogs were locked up. They would bring 1 out to go to the bathroom and immediately lock it up again . It seems like a cash machine for them. I really don't think it is in her heart to care for them.

Wow. 5/5 stars for this place. I submitted an application and in less than a week Lisa reached out to me with visiting hours and how many greys are available. I looked through their website and found a couple I liked. I already have a 4 year old retired racer, so I knew what I was looking for. I showed up during visiting hours and was greeted with a smile by all. Even while they were overwhelmed with other visitors, they were so kind and assured they'd be with me shortly. I chatted with Lisa a bit and she thought one dog in particular would fit my lifestyle and that's how we met Cleopawtra. I've had Cleo for less than 24 hours and she is just the sweetest thing. Our current grey loves her and Cleo is quickly becoming a big part of our little family. Lisa, her father and husband were OUTSTANDING. They made us feel welcome, answered any questions we had and were extremely knowledgeable on the breed and adoption process. At no point did I feel pressured or as if I was bothering them. In fact, they were quite funny and down to earth people. They were also kind enough to help us get the new crate in my car and load up our dogs into the trunk. They run a tight ship and you can tell they really, truly care about every dog that comes through that kennel. I felt confident that I was adopting a healthy, loving, affectionate grey. I have already reached out to Lisa with questions and she replied promptly, friendly and willing to assist. Greyhound Angels Adoption of NJ truthfully exceeded my expectations... and I WILL be returning here for another grey in the future. Thank you so much Lisa & family!

I believe 350. That includes vetting and neuter or spay. Check their website for particulars. Best place to find your fur friend.
From what we remembered it was around 375 dollars.
