In this week I spent my vacation on Anna Maria Island and passing Brandenton I saw the horses in the water with people riding them; The truth was that I had never seen a horse ride on water. Actually I make this comment because it is not good for those horses. Yes, it is good that they have been rescued from wherever and it is a good deed; but it is also an abuse to have these animals walking in the water with a person on top. Just calculate that if we ourselves get tired in the sand, how will they feel with a person going around several times a day. That is not funny or fun for them that's fun for people who don't think about what horses can feel; It is very painful for his legs. Horses are not created to walk in the sea. They were created to walk on land. Please get those horses out of the water.

Great time was had. Staff can be a little more attentive when starting. Definately could not hear the guide from the back. Had a late start and the ride was not extended due to the delay but otherwise an absolutely wonderful experience. Horses were great, would recommend.

I didn't ride the horses, but watched a big group get loaded up and head into the water. The people helping were patient and helpful. Looked like an awesome experience.

So much fun and worth the cost. Way better than trail riding which I've done many times. Knowing money goes to the care of these rescue horses, that they switch them out and are not overworked, makes the experience even more enjoyable! Highly recommend!

I believe its Hourly rates
We do accept same-day bookings but it’s better to plan ahead. Most people book 3+ days in advance.
Yes, while they 'should' be on a leash, not all are. Owners take them into the water, to swim freely. Same water horses and riders go in. Only the dogs don't go as far out as the horses.
I think there is a mobile trailer set up about halfway to the island on the Right hand side to purchase tickets. Not sure if there's any online access though? Never looked into it
No ma'am it's a family-oriented atmosphere horses are always under control
Warmer in April, even warmer in May/June.
Check with the parks and recreation services first. But I have seen many horses bought to the beach on the north side. But never on the south side
$140 plus tax and fees
No you have to register for insurance
Your best bet is to ride bareback, but if the saddle is what you want while walking along the beach, it just must come off before the swimming part of the ride.
