Frank and Judy are the best. They fixed my chains with proper safety clasps at a reasonable price. They also cleaned and fixed our grandfather clock AT OUR HOUSE.

The owners at Loop-Jacobsen went above and beyond for me this Summer to make sure a birthday gift I ordered for my boyfriend made it on time. They kept in great contact, even when being out of town. Everything couldn't have turned out better.

An "Old Timer" with a lot of skill. A pleasure doing business with him.

Brought in two watches which they quickly repaired-one new battery and one new pin for a watch band. Excellent service!

Questions & Answers

Was this store started by a man named Loop Jacobson? He pierced my ears in 1968 and a fireman named tip van winkle watched

Noreen, great question! In 1919 Mr Schultz and Mr Jacobsen started a jewelry store and called it Schultz-Jacobsen. About 1932 Mr Loop bought out Mr Schultz and the store was renamed Loop-Jacobsen. About 1952 Richard (also known as Rip) Van Winkle started working worked part time on his days off working as a fireman. In 1977, Mr Loop passed and his window offered to sell the store to Rip. Rip decided to keep the name in honor of Mr. Loop. Rip's son Frank Van Winkle started working full time in 1982. In 1987 Rip passed and Frank is now the owner. During his time owning the store, Mr Loop would regularly pierce ears and if it was Rip's day off from being a fireman, he was probably at the store. Frank still has the tools Mr. Loop used and actually witnessed Mr Loop doing some piercings. I hope that answers your questions and fills in the gaps!

We have just moved and need to start up our Grandfather's clock. The weights and pendulum were removed for the move. Do you go to people's homes to set clocks up?
