First off, I'm grateful for the opportunity of having a place to get myself together. However, my stay at HIS omitted the same amount of stress equivalent as not having a place to live. My situation was constant pressure of their chores being done ( which when their capacity was low, I was given more chores), when I commuted to work, had a child to tend too, and when I expressed that I felt ME being given more chores than anybody else on the side of the house I lived on was unfair, my concerns were basically rubbed off and neglected. I also felt discriminated on by a specific employee, who often came across bold, overly loud, rude, disrespectful too people living in the shelter, noncompassionate about people's situations in the shelter and judgemental. I then, again also expressed that and again, nothing was done. I chose to continue to empower myself to power through and move on, for myself and my child. The mode of operation, the chores, favoritism for selective people in the shelter, and lack of awareness of how employees are treating people and their children in this shelter is sad and disappointing. I know this shelter USE TO BE A GOOD, POSITIVE, OPERATING PROGRAM, but now it has gone down hill in my personal opinion and most likely I would NOT RECOMMEND PEOPLE OF COLOR go into this program. I place that recommendation because I would not want a person of color to feel the way I did and my child did when we were there.

Brings back a lot of memories. All of them good. Looking back on my stay I’m sorta shocked they didn’t boot my rebellious butt out. Not only did they not, they were kind to me and showered all the residents with care and opportunity. I’ll never forget my stay there. Or the people. Brenda Rosenberg was here—and there in 2003 God bless His House 🏡 PS, I still have that toy motorcycle on the rear dash of my car, the one they gave me after begging them. ❤️ PSS, Is Terri still there?

I love this program it really helps you become a better person. helps with classes like time management, saving, parenting, job searching. its all great I'm soo blessed to had been chosen to live here me and my 2 kids really are thankful for this opportunity and of course all the people who donate and volunteer they are amazing. staffs great too . all you got to do is work your program and you will be successful. all the others written bad reviews then its plain and simple they didn't want to make a change in their lives they didn't want to give their kids a better future. being homeless isn't where you wanna be with kids.

I was trying to get in With my four-year-old son for over a month and a half. I called and left messages all the time and even stopped by there a few times. Maria told me that I was on the top of their list. This week and open name came up for two people. I started calling several times a day and even stopped by the place twice. When I finally got a hold of somebody on Friday they said the room was already rented and I don’t know what to tell you . As a result me and my son are going to be completely homeless living on the street as of Monday

Do you have a bed available
They take singles, families, and couples. This place is truly amazing if you can follow rules and do what you have to do. I graduated there 2 years ago amd they STILL help me out when I need and allow my family to come back for events they have 👍👍👍💛💛💛
Rafael, Unfortunately, we do not take online applications. We are also a working program so you would be required to work full-time throughout the duration of your stay here. I would suggest you reach out to Adult Protective Services and of course, feel free to give us a call and we'd love to give you some more resources better suited for you.
