Very poor experience. Will be emailing corporate. Waiting over an hour for our meal, regardless of how busy it was, just is not acceptable. Especially when guests who arrived after us ordered, got their food, and were paying at the counter before our food even was ready. We were a table of 3 people who ordered basic things like pancakes and eggs. What finally caused us to leave is what we saw in perfect view of the kitchen from our booth: our waitress cupping her hands over mouth and nose, then scratching her lip, and without washing her hands, we watched her grab a plate from the food window and use those same bare hands to scrape eggs and bacon onto another plate and immediately return the plate to the window. I will not eat food that has been touched by unwashed hands! We left without eating.

I have always loved Dennys. That being said the one in The Dalles, Oregon is lacking. I love the strawberry crepes but the last 2 times I've ordered them they were cooked on a dirty grill as they tasted like onions and numerous other things. Yesterday I ordered the French toast slam and asked for my bacon to be crispy/crunchy. When it was served the bacon was half cooked and limp. I hate sending food back but I had no choice I couldn't eat it as it was. I have a medical condition that requires any meat I eat to be well done. When the bacon was brought back out to me it was obvious the cook had been offended that I sent it back as it was completely burnt. As in it looked like charcoal. I couldn't believe the cook was so immature as to do that and I couldn't believe the waiter would even consider serving that to someone. Needless to say I did not eat the bacon. The rest of the meal was fine but the service I got yesterday is going to make me think twice about going back.

Closes at 9:30. We arrived at 8:40 and the waitress said we need to leave because they’re closed. I said, “I’m sorry, I thought you closed at 9:30?” She said they do, but stop taking tables at 8:45. I told her it wasn’t 8:45 yet… She told me I could go to Shari’s down the street. SO RUDE. TURNED AWAY 50 MINUTES BEFORE CLOSING.

Sat waiting 20 minutes after being sat to get drinks for 6 people. Watched multiple employees walk by looked at our table and didnt say anything or offer to get any employee for us. Waited another 1hr for our meal, got half of the order still waited another 30 minutes for 3 kids pancake meal and a cookie dough pancake meal hear the cooks mention the meal not even cooked. Meal was comped by Rebecca. Don't recommend to anyone.
