Well worth the little walk. Very cool.

Overall the trail is very well developed pathways with a fair amount of steps. There are several viewing areas to see the actual exit from the caves of the water and the entrance of the spring to the Green River. Only a little over 1.8 miles long in a loop configuration that starts and ends at the Visitor center and climbs 450 feet. Also saw the Dixon cave trail and entrance. Due to a cave-in the Dixon cave and Mammoth no longer are connected. We had our dog on a leash like several others and we have a relaxing stroll.

It's a short hike but the walk back up is brutal, especially if you've just finished a cave tour. Oy spent about 10 minutes there.

When Green River is high enough, you can kayak back to the spring. You can also follow the trails to walk to it (there is a nice walking trail off the parking lot the Green River Ferry). Its beautiful and the water is a pretty blue/green when its lower and not moving much. One of my favorite places! So peaceful and pretty!
