Cool facts: this little gem was built in 1923 as is actually the oldest fishing pier on the east coast. This is pretty impressive considering it's survived battering waves and storms for over 100 years. At first I thought I had to fork over $8 to walk on but that fee is only for those looking to fish. But for those looking for a catch, word is that rainbow trout, walleye, and muskie are plentiful. My visit was on a sunny but hot and muggy mid July summer day. But the stiff southern breeze made it bit more bearable. Kure Pier is in the lovely town of Kure Beach. A cozy, laid-back beach village just south the must more touristy and crowded Carolina Beach. Peaceful, serene, and relaxing are what come to describe the vibe here. I would go so far as to say that it felt Caribbean, in a good way. In all, a true gem, one of many that make North Carolina wonderful place.

By far my favorite Cape Fear beach. Does Wrightsville have better water quality? Absolutely. Does Carolina Beach have more stuff to do on a beach vacation? Of course. But Kure Beach is special. Especially as a local. For one, the pier is free to walk on. And second, parking is free during the peak season after 5PM EST. After 5, there’s plenty of parking. I love going out to Kure after work for a nice 1 hour walk by the water. Lastly, it’s much quieter. Especially in the evening. Exactly the kind of place you go, reflect, and just chill out. As an added bonus, Fort Fisher is a short hop away. Leave the artificial bustle of Carolina Beach behind. Stop struggling to find a decent spot to set up on the beach at Wrightsville. Come to Kure!

Kure Beach pier area is absolutely beautiful all year round. Spend time on the beach, fish off the pier, walk somewhere to eat, grab an ice cream. My favorite part of Pleasure Island is Kure and Fort Fisher

It was simply great and ended up going here every day morning and evening for our visit to Kure beach. Less crowded and awesome view. Must see!!! Very nice park just in-front of it where you can take your little one.

The pier is still standing. Right now everyone that evacuated is waiting until they can go home to the island. Look up Kure Beach pier on Facebook. You'll see a lot of info.
The Spanish mackerel and blues should start running soon hopefully sometime the 1st of next month middle of the month at the latest
No dogs at all, on Kure Beach, between April and September.
It's good just alittle cold
Yes, if you are going to Fish there's a booth at the entrance, but if not fishing you don't have to pay. That was Mi first time visiting KURE Beach Pire and I had a Great time of over coming Mi Fear of Heights 🙂, large bodies of water 💦🤗! I Really Enjoyed Mi Trip 😀.
I know it appears parking can be an issue unless You get lucky along the Beach, Park Area
