OUTSTANDING PLACE TO EAT WITH YOUR FAMILY! 6 kids from age 3 to 13 and 4 adults and everyone had something delicious to eat. Elizabeth is an absolute delight! Ask for her if she’s there. Seriously! We’ve been to a lot of places around here for over 15 years and this was the spot to go to!

Poe’s Tavern is good, but not great or fantastic. Nothing wowed me. Decent bar food. I enjoyed the buffalo shrimp salad. The shrimps were pretty small, they didn’t appear to be fresh, probably were frozen. I will say the blue cheese dressing was delicious. I ordered a side of bacon coleslaw as well and I enjoyed it because it was light and did not have the usual mayo in it. My father got the Maui fish tacos and he said they were average and didn’t taste fresh. Not pictured are two burgers we ordered and they were extremely rare, basically mooing 😂 I probably wouldn’t go back a second time but I do recommend it if you’re looking for something fast. No wait for July 4th weekend at lunch time.

Great atmosphere, open air seating in main area and outside tables with covered areas, nice large bar, large variety local brews in bottles and on tap. Top rated bar food, excellent burgers. Had Catawba White on tap and a Black Cat burger without bun and a tavern salad, excellent eats. The 1/2 burger had pimento cheese, drunken chili, fried onion curls with fixings. Not walking distance from the beach but worth the short drive.

Excellent service and a great burger! Fries could have been warmer but we had a very good time and thoroughly enjoyed the tasty burger and chili queso.
