it was my first time on this trail and it was better than I expected. there was a long section of the road where it's closed to vehicles so you can take a bike or a walk without having to worry about vehicles coming from behind. The feel of accomplishment is unbelievable once you reach Mt Baldy.

really nice trail!! lots of parking (dirt turnouts) along the main road, was not difficult at all. the trail is easy to follow and the top vista point is pretty impressive! the decline (mystic canyon) is very steep so be careful. also would recommend bringing water since it gets hot in the summer.

Nice gradual climb . Fun flowing downhill without blind corners . Nice sight lines to open it up . !

There are several yellow metal gates that prevent cars trying to access it. People can hike and mountain bike this fire road.
No, it's not possible to drive any kind of vehicle here. It's a hiking/biking trail only. It has gates at the top and bottom. The trail is also about 2'-3' wide max.
The trail is always open. Sometimes the gate allowing vehicle access to the trail head is closed but it's usually only for extreme weather conditions. You can always still walk or ride to the trail head from the dirt lot below the closed gate.
